<p>&#8226; "The government should not choose winners and losers in the technology sector when allocating broadcast spectrum, says the senior lobbyist for television and radio broadcasters," <a href="http://thehill.com/blogs/hillicon-valley/technology/75269-nabs-smith-government-should-not-pick-winners-and-losers" target="blank"><em>The Hill</em></a> reports. "'Government is not very good at picking winners and losers,' said National Association of Broadcasters CEO <strong>Gordon Smith</strong>, who until last year was a Republican senator from Oregon."</p>

<p>&#8226; "AOL said Monday that it plans to lay off more than 1,000 workers this week, as the company continues efforts to restructure as a Web content publisher," the <a href="http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/01/11/AR2010011102686.html" target="blank"><em>Washington Post</em></a> reports.</p>]]></description>
