FCC

Monday, November 30, 2009

genachowski.jpgIt seems FCC Chairman Julius Genachowski and Rep. Edward Markey, D-Mass., both have ties to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where the FCC is holding a field hearing Monday afternoon on how broadband can help improve energy efficiency and the environment. At the start of the hearing, which was Webcast, Genachowski talked nostalgically about how his father had attended the school years before. When it was Markey's turn to speak, he also spoke of his father's connection to the school. "My father used to come over here (too). He used to deliver milk here for the Hood Milk company," quipped Markey, chairman of the House Select Committee on Energy Independence and Global Warming.
