This year, the group honored Virginia Deputy Secretary of Technology <strong>Karen Jackson</strong>; University of Virginia media studies professor <strong>Siva Vaidhyanathan</strong>; <strong>Sascha Meinrath</strong>, founder of the New America Foundation's Open Technology Initiative; and Verizon Vice President and Associate General Counsel <strong>Sarah Deutsch</strong>.</p>

<p>Among those spotted in the crowd at the Sewell-Belmont House on Capitol Hill were White House science and technology policy advisor <strong>Susan Crawford</strong>; President Obama's pick for intellectual property enforcement coordinator <strong>Victoria Espinel</strong>; Office of Science and Technology Policy Chief of Staff <strong>Jim Kohlenberger</strong>; and National Telecommunications and Information Administration chief <strong>Larry Strickling</strong>. <br />
