<p>The Justice Department has overhauled <a href="http://www.justice.gov">Justice.gov</a> and signed on to four of the major social networks -- <a href="http://www.facebook.com/DOJ">Facebook</a>, <a href="http://www.twitter.com/TheJusticeDept">Twitter</a>, <a href="http://www.myspace.com/usdoj">MySpace</a> and <a href="http://www.youtube.com/TheJusticeDepartment">YouTube</a>, the Sunlight Foundation's <strong>Jake Brewer</strong> pointed out Thursday. The effort shows the agency "is making an effort to connect more strongly with the outside world" and as a result is becoming more transparent, he wrote on an open government listerv. The initiative "can only be helpful when it comes time for the department to determine where its future time and energy will go," he added.</p>]]></description>
