Thune Becomes Co-Chair Of Net Caucus

Sen. John Thune, R-S.D., will join Reps. Rick Boucher, D-Va.; Bob Goodlatte, R-Va.; and Sen. Patrick Leahy, D-Vt., as the newest co-chair of the Congressional Internet Caucus. Thune's ascension to the leadership of one of the most active and prestigious caucuses on Capitol Hill reinforces the bipartisanship that has been the hallmark of the group during more than a dozen years since its inception, a press release stated. Thune has shown leadership on the Senate Commerce Committee and in the past has sponsored legislation to promote e-government, health information technology and youth online safety. Thune will make his first speech as a caucus co-chair at the inaugural State of the Mobile Net Conference on Thursday.
