<p>The government's 140-year-old printing operation, located just a few blocks from the Capitol, is something of an anachronism. Nowadays, the Government Printing Office's staff relies more on BlackBerrys than black ink. Former U.S. Public Printer Bruce James handed out the GPO's first BlackBerrys during his 2002-07 tenure as part of an effort to transform the agency into a 21st-century electronic enterprise.
